If the Empire has not built the Death Star I they could have instead 183,225,809 Imperial I class Star Destroyers. On ISD in modern day USD would cost about $9,300,000,000. Of courses it’s much to hit and fragile to extract that that heat. The Earths core alone has enough steel to build around 20 billion Death Starts. I assure you that I’m not making stuff up, I have done a lot of research. Many of you may be thinking that I am lying through my teeth. The Death Star II is said to be around 900 kilometers. So roughly 18,918 SSD’s could be built instead of the forts Death Star, (this is not counting the pay for the people on the Death Star.)That’s just for the first Death Star which, of the two is the smallest. That does not count using the hyperdrive. Plus another $44.4 trillion just to get it to Mars and back. To build a SSD and all its systems it would cost around $636 billion. That’s minimum wage, about $7.15 an hour.

It would cost $22,620,000,000 a year to pay just the 1.5 million people. I doubt that all those people are going to be okay without being paid and then there’s the droid maintenance. That’s just a skeleton crew, the real battle station had around 1.5 million people plus droids on board. It would roughly need around 300,000 to run. How many SSD’s could the Empire have built instead of building two Death Stars? Most agree that in our money it would cost roughly $852,000,000,000,000,000.
